6 Foods for a Galactic Star Wars Party

by Bill Welles

Whether you’re a fan of Star Wars or a fan of a good snack bar, you won’t be able to resist the Force of this Star Wars party food. From party appetizers to character-inspired meals, there are plenty of food ideas for the fanatic on your home. May the forks be with you.

1. Star Wars Mini Pizzas

Of course, we are starting with pizza! What's a party without pizza, anyway? This dish is super customizable from vegetarian and vegan options to gluten-free crusts to meat lovers’ delight. Anyway you want it, you can have it with pizza. It is easily customizable for a group.

These Star Wars mini pizzas are even easier to make. They use mini pitas, pizza sauce, and some well-placed toppings to build out the Death Star, Yoda, and more. They are so easy to make; no use of the Force is required.

2. Tie-Fighter Cheese and Crackers

Before you dive into the main course, you probably want some snacks to get your party started. These Tie-Fighter cheese and crackers are a perfect choice. Who doesn't love cheese and crackers? They’re almost pizza, people!

These, too, are easy to make. Plus, any cheese and crackers too difficult to make are from the dark side of the Force. They are made with crackers, hummus, and cheese. Just like pizza, there are a lot of options here, from gluten-free to vegan.

For the vegan option, simply replace the cheese with a carrot. Whatever version you grub on while running around with these festive crackers and making laser sounds, is bound to be fun for kids and adults alike.

3. Lightsaber Snack Mix

Real-life lightsabers are super dangerous. They also aren't real. Either way, this snack mix is. It is both tasty and real.

Homemade snack mix is a lot like pizza because you can customize it to your very own liking -- sweet and salty, and spicy and sweet, are just a few flavor combos to choose from.

This particular mix is on the sweet and salty side. It's also incredibly festive. Pretzel sticks are chocolate-dipped in assorted colored chocolates for a diversity of lightsaber colors.

4. Jabba The Hummus

You and your party guests can channel your inner Princess Leia with this Jabba-shaped hummus dip. He won't stand a chance against your guests and their appetites. Who doesn't love hummus?

Serve with carrots, celery, pretzel sticks, or any of your favorite snack foods. Those lightsaber pretzels in the snack mix might come in handy here!

5. Yoda Soda

A bubbly lemon-lime soda you will have, yes? The answer is always yes. This soda is a simple and festive way for you and your guests to get their Yoda on at your Star Wars party.

In addition to the soda, it features a scoop of lime sherbet. Don't be afraid to mix and match, making up your own combos. Here are a few: Darth Vader soda featuring Coca-Cola and a scoop of raspberry sherbet and a Chewbacca soda featuring creme soda and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

6. Han Solo Carbonite Jell-O

Of course, what's a party without dessert? It's like a party without pizza ... part of the dark side! That said, this particular treat does not come out on the side of good.

It has Han Solo suspended in "carbonite," also known as Jell-O. If this is what evil feels like, I don't want to be good. This dessert is fun and festive.
